Season’s Greetings to all who have used Think Differently over the last twelve months.

This year:
Where have we come from?
Where are we going?
Where has the last year gone?
Covid has changed so much they way we communicate with each other.

This also applies to the therapy world

The belief system to which I subscribe is:-
Where are you now?
Where do you want to be?
What is standing in the way?
This model is equally valid whether you are wanting counselling, supervision or training.

So Think Differently has embraced the advantages of virtual working. I have delivered all three services online.

The advantages have been immense.

  1.  Easy access
  2.  No travel
  3.  Working online from home or the office and cross site

The advent of Zoom was really not anything I considered initially until the lockdowns.
Anyone who knows me would probably realise I am a techno dinosaur! – yet I embraced it!  There was no choice!

With a lot of support from my VA Pippa my technical guru Neil, I got the hang of it.  Plus I did training to understand the difference between online and face-to-face therapy. Yes there is a difference, but for me the drawbacks were outweighed by the advantages. Most of my clients were adept at the virtual world and those that weren’t were happy working on the telephone.

The student supervisees were from a variety of training organisations and all are making the transition from students to qualified counsellors. Their hard work has certainly paid off. Those qualified counsellors with who. I work have diversified and fond more clients of their own.

In addition to individual supervision I have coordinated and facilitated two new support and supervision groups, SAS groups. These groups give a safe, confidential space to explore a range of issues including client dilemmas, CPD and any issue affecting the counselling world. A new slant on Counsellor Support.

So it was a good year, working on contracts for therapy and supervising students and qualified counsellors. All very rewarding. Running training online had its difficulties but with time and patience and a good co -facilitator we delivered training to an NHS team with very good feedback.

The new initiative was to offer Therapy on Demand, TOD, was launched in March.Companies were able to purchase a block of counselling sessions to be accessed anonymously by their staff, as a one off session or a series of appointments. The organisation were informed of the number of sessions used in a month without the names of those accessing the service. In some cases they chose to tell their managers and elicit extra support , but that was not always necessary . The feedback so far has been very good.

What is to come will be more of the same, with the same enthusiasm passion and commitment to a quality professional service in all areas. Thank you for your support in 2022. Looking forward to further contact next year.

Peace and Prosperity for 2023 to all my clients, supervisees, businesses and colleagues.
